Jame 5:14-15: 14. Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; 15. and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.
Last Sunday our pastor and the elders of our church came over to the house and we had a time of prayer, laying on of hands and anointing with oil. The first thing we did before I was prayed over was to have a time of prayer just giving glory to God and praising Him. It was wonderful just acknowledging the Lord, praising Him for who He is and what He has done and what He has yet to do. He is the one to receive glory and praise in all this. After this the pastor, the elders and Aaron gathered around me. The pastor poured a little oil on my head and then placed his hands on my head while the elders each laid their hands on my shoulders. Aaron was kneeling in front of me holding my hands while everyone offered prayers to the Lord. It's hard to explain exactly how it felt...but there is nothing like having Godly people come and pray over you. It's quite different then having people tell you that they are praying for you. After praying we sang a chorus. It was a wonderful time of praising God!

S, I know what you mean; I grew up in a church where that was not an uncommon thing to be annointed with oil and be prayed over by the believers in our congregation. The energy and power you can feel from that experience is awsome leaving you with no doubt of the power of God. You are in my thoughts and prayers often.
