Visit to the ER

Last night Aaron took me to the emergency room under the direction of my cardiologist. I had been feeling very tired and out of breath and the past 2 days things seemed to get worse. Well, first thing let me say the Lord blessed us even in this event. When we arrived I was the only one there. I was checked in and taken to a room. Our nurse was very nice and couldn't ask for a nicer one. The biggest problem we encountered was retelling the series of events and symptoms to a number of people. But, it's just something you have to do. A number of tests were ran including a CAT scan of my sinuses and another CT scan of my lungs. The CT scan showed no pulmonary embolis as well as the other things that the previous CT scan showed. The CAT scan of my sinuses showed that I do have a sinus infection. Thankfully this is an easy thing to tackle. After a first dose of antibiotics and a steroid shot we were discharged around 2:15 a.m. We arrived at 7:30 p.m. This is not uncommon for us.

Also, let me share with you 2 ways the Lord blessed us and wrapped his loving arms around us. While we were there, a friend from church brought Aaron something to eat as well as a drink for myself. He waited until about 11:30 pm in the waiting room to find out what the news was. We knew that we were going to be there much longer and thanked him for his kindness and encouraged him to go home and get some sleep. Secondly, after getting home Aaron and I managed to get to bed around 3:00. I woke up about 5:00 feeling completely disoriented and feeling like I was dying and there would be no time for me to get to the hospital. Needless to say, it was scary. With Aaron's help by talking to me and assuring I was ok, singing hymns, praying and reading the word the Lord was able to comfort me and calm my panic. Admittadly I was afraid and really couldn't fall back to sleep because I didn't want to wake up feeling the same way. I had attributed this episode to the steroid shot that I was given; however, after reading about the antibiotic I am taking it appears some of the side effects are anxiety and nervousness and in extreme cases confusion and hallucinations. I would say what I was feeling was extreme anxiousness and confusion. The Lord worked that night...he is the Mighty Comforter. It was only looking to Him that I was ok. Thank you Lord.
