Let Go and Let God

I remember hearing this phrase in my high school Spanish class. I went to a Christian school so, it was ok for a teacher to talk about God. Well, today I got to put that into practice. Aaron is going on his Emmaus walk this weekend and it just seems like we're having a hard time pulling everything together. This morning we dropped off his car to have the brakes fixed...in Madison. We live in New Market; I work in Lacey's Spring...lot of driving this morning without any coffee. Well, I get to work and Aaron calls me to tell me that he gave auto repair shop the wrong key. I did not react the way I should have...instead, I managed to make Aaron feel like a complete burden. After talking to Aaron I told God that everything is in His hands...I was giving it up to Him. I proceeded to go about my morning activities without any conflict. Aaron calls again to tell me that he had borrowed a friend's truck to take the keys to the repair shop. At lunch I was able to get the rest of the little things Aaron needed to take with him this weekend.

The minute I decided that I was going to put things in His hands, that's when the burden of stress was lifted. The list of "To Do's" was still the same length, but I was able to look at it as one thing at a time instead of "I've got to do all this". Why can't I do that more often??

This is an instance where I am reminded that God listens to the little things...every little thing. I am so blessed to have such a caring, attentive God!!
