Shouldda Had Fruit of the Spirit

I think we all may have seen the V8 commercials where we "shouldda had a V8". Well, here lately, God has been telling me that I should have Fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22, 23 tell us that the Fruit of the Spirit is "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." The past few weeks I have been noticing my attitude toward the people I work with has just gotten poor. So, yesterday I opened my Bible and asked God to show me something. I turned to the Old Testament because I don't go there often and went to Nehemiah 9:16. I read it and wondered what God was trying to tell me. Then I flipped to the New Testament in Acts 7:51. Both passages use the term in the NIV "stiff-necked". The first referred to not obeying God's commands. The second referred to resisting the Holy Spirit. I was still unsure what God was telling me until my drive home. Ephesians 4:32 popped in my head..."Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." I was not being kind or compassionate. Rather, I have been short, put-off, agitated, or just plain ignoring the people I work with. I had previously acknowledged my poor attitude but did nothing about it. God was telling me to stop being "stiff-necked" and start obeying him and submitting to the Holy Spirit!

So, for those of you who are reading this I am asking you to do something for me...please pray that I will do these things.
