There and back again.

We are back from our trip to UAB. The easiest way I can describe it is...informative. I underwent a heart catheterization but did not require angioplasty or a stint. In my opinion it is a little disappointing because I was hoping that they would find something definite that would fix things. However, my plans and expectations are not the Lord's. So...He has put us on a different path with a different game plan. I have been prescribed a heart medication to help the flow of my aortic valve which is in the homograph used to repair my condidtion. We are going to try this for a little while and see if there is an improvement. Should there be no improvement, the next option is surgery. The homograph is now 21 years old and has some calification as well as some other things that were noted. Should surgery be required, the homograph would be repleaced and other things would be repaired all at the same time. The cardiologist informed us that it was not unusual to have a homogrph replaced multiple times. And considering the advancement of medicine and surgical techniques from 21 years ago, I feel confident that the surgeons at UAB are more than capable should we have to go that route.

Now, this is just one part of a 3 part issue... we are also dealing with Hep C and I am to see the GI doctor this week. I am assuming that he is going to discuss treatment and hopefully a biopsy of my liver. I will admit that I get a little nervous of the treatment and how it will affect my heart as well as the side effects. But, I can't not be treated. The third part is another issue that I will get into later as soon as I see my doctor to evaluate what's going on. I'll keep you informed.

I cannot thank you enough for all your prayers and again I am asking for continued prayer.
