AWANA

AWANA officially began 2 weeks ago...this is our 3rd official club week, 2nd structured club week, and 1st prepared club week. Actually, I'm not as fully prepared as I would like to be...with 2 new leaders, I haven't had a chance to thoroughly go over what is expected. I do have faith that we can work out any "bugs" along the way. This year there are many new Sparks, made up of those who moved up from Cubbies and those who are new to the AWANA program all together. I am also excited about the curriculum that I will be using to teach Green Meadow time...for each of the lessons that will be taught, there is an opportunity for the children to talk further with thier parents about what they learned. They each get a piece of paper with somethings to talk about with their parents that pertains to the lesson they learned that night. I am considering awarding extra points for bringing back the slips signed. I think this is an excellent way to get the parents involved in the things that the children are learning and further talk about Jesus and the Bible in the home setting. I pray that this may open some doors for the Gospel to be shared with those families who don't attend church but allow their children to attend AWANA. I think this will be a good club year and I am excited to see how God will work.
