Rocks = Love

I love Aaron for many reasons...here is one in particular. On our way, we saw a sign for "Mammoth Caves". We decided to stop and see what it was all about. It didn't look like much but there was another place called "Diamond Caverns". It looked a little more inviting. We went inside to take a look at what was going on. There was a tour about to start soon; but, we declined to go and instead paroozed their wares. Here is another instance where I am easily amused and where Aaron, showing that he loves me, will humor me. Well, you could buy bags of sand that you could "pan" to find all sorts of treasures. I HAD to do it! And, he had to as well. So, we did. I had fun with it... you didn't know what that bag of sand had until you dumped it out and let the water wash away the excess. About 15 minutes later we had 2 small bags of different types of crystals, quartz and some peridot (which is August's birthstone; I believe). It was fun; but, I think Aaron may have been glad I was sleeping when we passed it on the way home.

My husband and I did the Mammoth Cave Historic Tour a couple of years ago, it has a total of 440 steps in the cave, including up 138steps up a fire tower at Mammoth Dome. I was breathing so hard during some of the step climbs, the guide thought I was having an asthma attack - totally embarrassing! Be glad you chose the panning for stones - wish I had!
